Fall Back

I used to get so excited for the start of Daylight Savings Time. Similarly I would hate the end of it each fall.

Afterall, the addition of an extra hour to each day meant longer nights out with friends and warmer weather overall. And the shorter and darker days seemed to clamp down on fun like a frigid fist.

Surgery clerkship is amazing and I'm sad it's going so quickly. I think I'm experiencing gen surg withdrawal already and it just ended today. It's been the most fun month of med school so far!

The Start of Something New

The beginning of a school year brings milestones in our lives. For some, it is the first step into the path to become a doctor; for others, it is the beginning of clinical clerkship; for some, it is the first test of balancing parenthood with academia.... for everyone, the beginning of a school year marks one step closer to that M.D.

To all the new initiates, the 1/4 MDs, the 1/2 MDs, and the 3/4 MDs, good luck this year!

A Poem about CaRMS... A Message from our Co-Chair

'Twas the night before CaRMS when all through the web,
Not a med student was sleeping, laptop glued to their head.
The letters were assigned to each program with care,
Knowing a program director soon would be there.

The students were pulling the hair from their head,
As CaRMS' faulty programming gave an "error message" again.

And "Where should I list this publication?" one asked,
"Who knows? Email CaRMS?! It's too late!" they all gasped.
