Get Involved

There are multiple ways to get involved with the Ontario Medical Students' Association.

1. Become a VP External

Elections for VP External are run through your school's Medical Society, and generally happen in Spring or Fall. Click HERE for a detailed description of the VP External role, or contact your school's VP External for more information!

2. Run for an Executive Board position

Executive Elections are conducted at the Annual General Meeting, held in May each year. Keep an eye out on social media for when election nomination periods open!

3. Be on an OMSA Committee

OMSA has seven portfolios with multiple committees related to advocacy, communications, education, EDID, finance, operations, and student affairs. Medical students from all years and any amount of experience are encouraged to apply as this is a great opportunity to meet students from across the province and develop leadership and advocacy skills.

Committee Member Applications are Live!

Apply to these committees using this link.

If you have any questions, contact the VP Operations at operations@omsa.ca.

Applications will close on Sunday, October 2, 2022 at 11:59 pm (EST).

OMSA aims to provide equitable opportunity to all applicants. We strongly encourage applications from students from traditionally underrepresented backgrounds, including but not limited to people with disabilities, female-identifying, LGBTQ+ , Black, Indigenous, low-income, and first-generation communities.  If you require accommodations to apply to our team, contact operations@omsa.ca or president@omsa.ca
