The Ontario Medical Students’ Association will be hosting the 2026 Leadership Summit (LS) and Annual General Meeting (AGM) on May 2-3, 2026 in Toronto, Ontario. This conference integrates both components across the two days. This year, the conference ticket will be $80. This will include both Saturday and Sunday. The Saturday portion of the conference will be at Toronto City Hall and the Sunday portion will be at the TMU Student Centre. More details about the locations will be provided upon confirmation of your spot at the conference. A payment portal will soon be available and sent to you to collect your payment.
1) Leadership Summit: The theme of this year’s summit is “Reaching New Heights: Climbing Toward Impact, Innovation, and Community”. Delegates will have the opportunity to hear keynote speeches and participate in an interactive workshops. The Summit will also serve as an opportunity to network with likeminded peers from across the province, and the delegates will then be able to wind down with a fun evening social at the CN Tower.
2) OMSA Annual General Meeting: This is a forum for medical students to learn about OMSA’s work and participate in electing the 2026-27 OMSA Executive Board, interspersed with a Q&A panel of leaders in health systems change. *The election portion of the AGM will also be offered virtually.*

If you choose to attend ONLY the election portion of the AGM, you will not be required to pay the registration fee. If selected as a delegate, you will receive an email with payment details.
The Leadership Summit and AGM have a capacity limit. If registrations exceed the event capacity, delegates will be selected from eligible and sufficiently complete applications while ensuring equitable representation from all seven medical schools. Running in the OMSA election does NOT guarantee acceptance as a delegate for the conference. If you are not selected as a delegate, you may still attend the election portion of the AGM, either in person or online. If you wish to attend the LS/AGM and run for elections make sure you fill out both forms by their respective deadlines!
f you are located far from Toronto, OMSA may cover the costs of your hotel accommodation. Students may also be eligible to apply and receive travel subsidy. Applicants will be provided with more information if their delegate application is successful. Note that reimbursements are usually made based on distanced traveled using the most affordable method of transportation. To accommodate morning travel to Toronto on Saturday, May 2nd, the conference will have a late morning start.
Officially founded in May 1974 during the Ontario Medical Association’s AGM, the Student Section of the OMA was started using the acronym “OMSA” (short for Ontario Medical Students Association) in 2004.
