OMSA held its first annual Annual General Meeting on May 13th - 14th, 2017. Activities included leadership workshops, case studies, and lectures from physicians.
On February 18th to 19th, 2017, OMSA held a workshop in partnership with LivingWorks for Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST)!

However, did you know that OMSA is organized by fellow Ontario medical students as well? ...Yeah, maybe you do, it's on our website after all. But how much do you really know about the OMSA Exec, particularly the two Co-Chairs?
We have an exciting opportunity for you that you won’t want to miss. The Canadian Medical Association (CMA) is launching its inaugural Medical Student Ambassador Program and will be inviting 10 Ontario Medical students to take part, which happen during the CMA’s annual General Council (GC) meeting in Ottawa from Sunday, August 17 – Wednesday, August 20.
Advocate, actor, comedian and author Rob Hawke led a Dynamic Speaking for Leadership workshop for students in the Leadership in Medicine Elective (LiME) on February 4.
Hawke — who is an alumnus of Second City — is a respected patient advocate who draws upon his own experience as a cancer patient. His one-man show, "Norm versus Cancer: A Terminally Funny One Man Show," was nominated for a 2011 Canadian Comedy Award.
OMSA successfully passed FOUR motions at the most recent OMA
General Council meeting held in Toronto, Ontario during the
weekend of November 12, 2011! The General Council represents one
of the avenues through which OMSA advocates on behalf of Ontario
medical students. We would like to thank everyone who submitted
responses to the Negotiations Survey sent out a few weeks ago -
your answers were very helpful in clarifying the proposed
motions.
